Explore the European Valley in southern Brazil. Our journey begins in the city of Blumenau, nestled along the Itajaí-Açu River in the State of Santa Catarina. Here, you'll encounter a European-like landscape, characterized by architecture heavily influenced by German traditions. Our first stop is the Jardim da Cerveja, home to the Museu da Cerveja, which chronicles the history and evolution of beer in the city. We'll also visit the old Railway station, now serving as the city hall, and the Catedral Metropolitana, a landmark inaugurated in 1958 that replaced Blumenau's first church. Afterwards, we'll head to Vila Germanica, a charming area with houses reminiscent of German villages, known for hosting the famous Oktoberfest, Brazilian Beer Festival, Sommerfest, and many other local festivities. We'll take a break here for lunch.
Next, we travel to Pomerode, renowned as the most German city in Brazil. You'll discover the half-timbered route, featuring houses constructed from wood without nails, only fitted together and filled with bricks, a design imported from Colonial Germany. We'll also visit the Porcelain Schmidt store, with a 70-year legacy in the city, offering exquisite porcelain pieces for purchase. Our itinerary includes a visit to the city museum, the Zoo, home to a thousand animals across 240 species and regarded as the largest BioParque in Santa Catarina. We'll explore Parque Vila Encantada, a dinosaur-themed park with attractions for all ages, and conclude our tour at the Cervejaria Artesanal, where the art of brewing is infused with German influence.
