Tour Description
The excursion kicks off with a departure from the passengers' hotel, heading towards the stunning beaches of Calhau, São Marcos, Ponta D'areia, and Espigão. These picturesque beaches offer a striking contrast to the modern, towering buildings of the new center of São Luiz. Our journey includes a visit to the renowned Jansen Lagoon, a destination featuring an area equipped with multi-sports courts, bicycle paths, and tracks for walking and running.
Next, we will move on to the historic center of the city, where the charm of colonial architecture awaits. As we stroll through the streets and cobbled alleys, we'll admire the beautiful mansions that highlight the architectural legacy of the city's colonization. Originally founded by the French, and later influenced by the Portuguese, Dutch, and Indigenous cultures, the area boasts a unique cultural identity shaped by this rich blend of influences.
During our exploration, we will pass by Pedro II Square, a historical landmark marking the city’s beginnings, the Palace of the Lions, the government seat, the Cathedral de la Sé, and Giz street, a cultural hub that is home to several popular culture centers and showcases folklore. Our visit will include the Beco Catarina Mine, known for its shops and restaurants, and we'll continue to the Casa das Tulhas, a key tourist attraction in the city.
The Casa das Tulhas, also referred to as Mercado de Tulhas, is a bustling marketplace featuring a wide array of stores offering local products, ranging from food and spices to handicrafts and clothing.
