The best time for this organized trip depends on your preferences. Summer (December–March): warmer weather and a festive atmosphere in Rio de Janeiro, warm seas, and afternoon showers; ideal for the beach, but with higher tourist demand. Autumn and spring (April–June and September–November): milder and more stable weather, less rainfall, a great option for city tours and boat trips in Paraty. Winter (July–August): mild temperatures, cool nights, and fewer crowds. Carnival, New Year's, and Brazilian holidays are peak season; it's advisable to book in advance. For outdoor tours, bring sun protection, stay hydrated, and check the forecast; the boat trip may be adjusted for safety and sea conditions.
To fully enjoy the excursion, pack light, breathable clothing, a swimsuit, a microfiber towel, comfortable walking shoes, beach sandals, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and insect repellent. Add a lightweight waterproof jacket, a small backpack, and a reusable water bottle. Personal documents (passport/ID), digital copies, credit cards, and some cash in Brazilian reais are recommended. In Brazil, the voltage can be 127/220V and the plug type N; bring a universal adapter. The level of physical exertion is low to moderate, with stairs at viewpoints, cobblestone streets in the historic center of Paraty, and boarding/disembarking by schooner. Optional activities (trails, waterfalls) require a higher level of fitness. Please inform us of any medical restrictions.
Booking this tour package is usually done online with a deposit/advance payment and the balance due before departure; you will receive confirmation and vouchers by email. Payment methods and currency (USD or BRL) depend on the operator; the exchange rate may apply. Cancellation and change policies vary by season, hotel, and local suppliers: during peak season, policies tend to be stricter, and some rates may be non-refundable. If the weather affects outdoor activities (for example, sailing in Paraty), we will attempt to reschedule or offer equivalent alternatives. We recommend purchasing travel insurance with cancellation coverage, reviewing the terms on the tour page, and contacting support for current conditions.
