Frequently Asked Questions

The Jericoacoara day trip from Fortaleza typically includes round-trip transportation, a bilingual local guide, 4x4 transport from Jijoca to the village of Jericoacoara, and stops at viewpoints, beaches, and dunes within the National Park. Many versions include visits to Pedra Furada, Árvore da Preguiça, Duna do Pôr do Sol, and Lagoa do Paraíso (depending on time and conditions). Meals are generally not included, but free time is provided for lunch at local restaurants. Activities such as buggy/quad riding, stand-up paddleboarding, or netting in the lagoons are usually optional. Please check the updated tour description to confirm entrance fees and environmental taxes.

The classic itinerary departs early from Fortaleza with hotel pickup, travels along the Costa do Sol Poente, and arrives in Jijoca to transfer to 4x4 vehicles that traverse the dunes to Jericoacoara. Depending on the package, you'll visit attractions such as Pedra Furada, Lagoa do Paraíso, and the Duna do Pôr do Sol, with free time for the beach, photos, and local cuisine. One-day (intensive) or 2-3 day options with overnight stays are available, ideal for a more relaxed experience. The duration and order of stops may vary due to tides, winds, and weather. Please check the detailed schedule before booking.

Jericoacoara offers warm weather year-round, with average temperatures of 26–32°C. The dry season generally runs from July to December, with clear skies, calm seas, and ideal winds for kitesurfing and windsurfing (August–November). The rainy season is concentrated between February and May, when brief showers can cool the air and create fuller lagoons. Holidays such as New Year's, Carnival, and school breaks mean higher demand and higher prices; book in advance. For a comfortable trip, consider traveling during the dry season if you prioritize continuous sunshine, or after the rainy season if you're looking for crystal-clear lagoons and greener landscapes.

We recommend bringing high SPF sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, a swimsuit, a light towel, cool clothing, a windbreaker, sandals and comfortable shoes for walking on sand, insect repellent, a reusable water bottle, cash for optional expenses, and a waterproof case for your phone/camera. The tour is of low to moderate difficulty: it includes short walks on sand, gentle dune climbs, and 4x4 transfers. It is suitable for families and travelers of all ages; people with reduced mobility should inquire about adapted options. Optional activities such as buggy or quad biking may not be recommended for pregnant women or those with back problems.

Prices for tours to Jericoacoara from Fortaleza vary depending on the season, the type of tour (full day or overnight), the guide's language, and any extras (buggy, meals, entrance fees). Booking is usually done online with secure payment, email confirmation, and an electronic voucher. Many tours offer flexible cancellation up to 24–72 hours in advance, modifications due to weather conditions, and traveler assistance. Check if environmental fees and 4x4 transfers are included. To expedite check-in, bring your ID and digital reservation confirmation. We recommend booking in advance during peak season to secure availability and better rates for this must-see destination in northeastern Brazil.
